I Know What Prayer Can Do

There's an old song with lyrics that represent the fabric of my foudation in Christ. As a young child, I remember singing this song. The words are fitting for all people and all religions; however, I believe that the father of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ honors HIS WORD!!

Here's the song!

Verse 1
I know what prayer can do (4x).

Chorus
I've found the answer in prayer,
I'll tell it everywhere;
I know, I know,
I know what prayer can do.

Verse 2
I know He'll see me through (4x).

Verse 3
Prayer will heal the sick,
prayer will raise the dead;
I remember one day five thousand souls were fed.

Bridge
Prayer, prayer, prayer changes things (2x).
I've been out,
out on the stormy seas (3x),
I've been hungry,
I've been sick,
I've been filled with misery;
along came Jesus (2x),
Jesus rescued me.

2 Chronicles 7:14 and Matt. 18:18-20

This morning was the first day of community prayer for the "church" and the nation. We, God's people, are faced with the reality that although we are the "salt of the earth" we are loosing our savor.

2Chronicles 7:14 reads, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land,"

and

Matthew 18:18-20 reads, "(18)Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (19)Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. (20)For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

therefore,

Let's humble ourselves before the Lord, and pray based on the scripture.

Join us each Monday morning for prayer.

A Call to Prayer

So many of this present generation was not taught the importance of prayer. The world has so much control over God's people. I believe that many of God's people do not understand the importance of communicating with Him daily.

I encourage anyone who believes in God and reads this blog to read 2Chronicles 7:14 and join with me in prayer for God's church and this nation.

Every Monday, starting April 26, 2010 5:00 am, join us on TALKSHOE for community prayer. (15 minutes)

Procrastination

Procrastination is opportunity's assassin. ~Victor Kiam

It's 5 o'clock in the morning, just finished meditating on God's Word and praying. I recognize the day is filled with uncertainties and no promises, except, God himself!

If I choose to wait, let it be because I'm anticipating divine answers and not a fleshly desire to find the "right" time. My assignments in life will prove prosperous when I've been anoitned for the task knowing that my abilities, talents and gifts to complete the task have already been given to me.

I procrastinate when my steps are not divinely ordered.

Choose today the direction of your destiny.

PEACE!

THE CROSS

Inspired by a facebook friend, I considered the meaning of the cross.

The cross - demonstrates unconditional love, is a destination for restoration and it declares the power available to those who believe!

We have heard the accounts of men who witnessed the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Time an again be believed because they say saw the act first hand. I wonder if part of why we fail in our trying is because we have doubts of the crucifixion of Christ.

My faith is stronger because I choose to believe not because I don't have firt-hand account of the crucifixion, but because of the all the other things I believe and have not seen!

The Cross...

The Perpetuation of a Lie!

"All sin is sin" therefore I can live the way I want to and claim 1John 1:9...

People who claim to be believers must take note. We, the church, continue to find ways to avoid speaking truth that will change lives. Instead we have conformed to the world and adopted the very mind-set God poured his wrath upon. As long as we sit in silence and allow the agenda of a (in the words of my pastor) sickly secular society to permeate the walls of our witness, then we must accept the results of a "perpetuated lie."

I'm fearful at what God will do in the face of our continued disregard for righteousness, not "self-righteousness." Believers in Christ, as we pattern ourselves after Christ, remember Love without correction is no love at all!

Consider the openly sinful nature of man today! There appears to be no shame in our lifestyles or behaviors. We tend to take God's grace and mercy for granted! The scripture says (Rom. 6:1-2) that we should not continue in sin that grace may abound! Don't get it twisted!

Are you living a lie? This is the question I've begun asking myself daily. I want to make sure that when I say I'm saved, my lifestyle, that which others can see, demonstrates my salvation. When you say you believe in someone or something, your actions demonstrate it!

I choose not to perpetuate the LIE!

STOP FRONT'N

First off, I'm a believer in Jesus Christ...enough said.

As a believer, my desire is not to encourage others to parttake in sin. I desire to be a vessel God can use for his purpose, to accomplish his plan, in his time period.

As a believer, I strive to continue his purpose through his guidance and opportunities Jesus has already said, I come not to condemn the world but to save those who are lost.
